iKnowMed Generation 2 Updated Problems Tab Frequently Asked Questions
Coming Sunday, Feb 27 2022, the updated Problems tab in iKnowMed Generation 2 makes charting easier and more accurate, improving problem data capture to support care plan development.

We’re making it easier to add problems to the patient chart, by eliminating clicks and adding functionality. We’re focused on:
-
Provider Satisfaction. Easy to learn and use, the updated Problems List lets you quickly chart diagnosis information on one screen to automatically generate ICD-10 codes with fewer clicks.
-
Quality of Care. Charting is easier and more accurate, improving problem data capture to support care plan development.
-
Operational Efficiency. Mark frequently used diagnoses and IDC10 codes with star icon as a favorite.
-
Improving Financials. Metastatic site involvement is integrated into the workflow. Additionally, support for alcohol and tobacco use documentation displays HCC codes helping add the correct elements for billing.

The updated Problems tab will be released with iKnowMed Generation 2 version 3.0.29, on Sunday, Feb. 27, 2022.

No. When the updated Problems tab is launched, it will be available based on users’ Clinical Profile permissions. Permissions previously required for Beta Project participants have been removed.

Starting in January 2022, we began sharing information about the upcoming change and educational resources to help practices prepare. We’ll have opportunities for practices to receive demonstrations of the updated Problems tab and opportunities for training. Throughout the month we’ll share updates and the final launch date.

The updated problems tab:
-
Allows the provider to roll through the required and additional staging fields
-
Adds the Ability to favorite problems and ICD-10 codes
-
New logic guides providers through adding:
-
Metastatic sites, problem, and ICD-10 codes at one point of entry
-
ER Status, Tobacco and Alcohol problems and ICD-10 codes as required for billing purposes
Additionally, when a diagnosis has one ICD-10 code, it’s automatically added so providers don’t have to choose the ICD-10 code.

For Beta testers, the Problems Beta tab will be removed when the updated Problems tab is launched. The legacy Problems tab will be replaced with the updated Problems tab.

Any ICD-10 codes favorited during the Beta Project will continue to be available for users with the new Problems tab launch.

We are not changing the order of tabs under a user’s Clinical Profile. The updated Problems tab will be the first tab. For Problems tab Beta tests, if the Problems Beta tab was the default, the updated Problems tab will retain that default.
